Summary of the use of geogrids:

Geogrid is suitable for reinforcing embankments and subgrade, slope protection and tunnel wall. Foundation reinforcement for permanent bearing capacity of large airports, parking lots, wharfs and cargo yards.

Geogrid is used to increase the bearing capacity of roadbed and prolong the service life of roadbed.

Geogrids are used to prevent road (ground) surface from collapsing or cracking, and to keep the ground beautiful and neat.

Geogrid is used for construction convenience, time-saving, labor-saving, shorten construction period and reduce maintenance costs.

Geogrids are used to prevent cracks in culverts.

Geogrids are used to reinforce slopes and prevent soil erosion.

Geogrid is used to reduce cushion thickness and save cost.

Geogrid is used to support the stable greening environment of grass planting mat on slope.

Application of Geogrid

Geogrids can effectively prevent the transmission of seismic force, and play an important role in enhancing the seismic stiffness, strength and stability of embankments.

Successful application of geogrids is expected to reduce common embankment diseases in high-intensity earthquake areas and improve the seismic disaster reduction capacity of roads. However, the current codes for seismic design of highways and railways do not stipulate the seismic performance of embankments strengthened by geogrids.

There are few studies on the seismic effect, reinforcement effect and mechanism of embankment reinforced by geogrids at home and abroad. The calculation and analysis methods are not perfect and mature, and there is little accumulation of field test data.
